The publication is a compilation of the knowledge and learning gathered during a three-year pilot project in Colombia, Myanmar and Syria.
To mark the 25th anniversary of the UNSCR 1325 Women, Peace and Security, IMS decided to publish the knowledge and resources that came out of a three-year pilot project on the role of the media in UNSCR 1325, implemented in Colombia, Myanmar and Syria, with the hope of inspiring and helping other media to contribute to gender equality and peace.
The publication addresses:
- how media portrayed women politicians.
- the experience of women social leaders interacting with the media.
- concrete guidelines on gender- and conflict-sensitive journalism.
- the safety of women journalists covering peace issues.
